Description

DALY Smart BMS 8S 24V 30A LiFePo4 with Bluetooth dongle

DALYBT 8S LFP 30A

Introduction about this BMS:

This bms is especially for 8S Bluetooth or smart fixed configurations. Basically it can also be used for any other lithium technologies even if  LiFePo4, Lithium Ion, LiPo and Lithium Metal by changing internal parameters after connecting to Bluetooth App or computer. Most important that  it is strictly for 8S battery packs only. As a result, that they cannot be used for any other battery pack Configurations.

In the same way all Parameters can be changed Via Bluetooth App or UART USB Connection with PC Monitoring Program .Default setting inside BMS are for LiFePo4 batteries.

Over charge and over discharge protection:

The LiFePo4 battery pack will stop charge after the single cell voltage reaches 3.7V and stop discharge when its voltage reaches 2.5V.

Temperature Protection:

  • In high temperatures the bms ranges from 70℃ discharging battery protection.
  • Meanwhile in low temperatures the bms ranges up to -20℃ battery protection.

Short circuit protection:

When there is a defect or damage to the circuit at same time the bms will shut down the whole Battery.

Certifications Approved:

                           ISO/ FCC/ RoHS/ PSE and CE APPROVED

Applications:

Solar and RV, Electric bikes and Skateboard including camping boats and Power tools, Lawn moving and household energy storage systems etc.

What you will get:

  • 8S Smart LiFePo4 30A rated voltage with 24V BMS
  • Balanced wire sense cable (9 Wire sense cable with connector)
  • Thermocouple
  • USB-UART Cable
  •  Bluetooth dongle
  • Instruction Manual

Conclusion:

Most important that it is only a waterproof bms available in lithium industry.

This BMS is also for all kinds of lithium-ion cells including 18650 ,21700,36500 cylindrical cells and prismatic cells.

The BMS works well, but the balancing as designed is not very good.

All BMS functions that this was to provide exceed expectations, with the exception of one. Balancing. The BMS only balances during charge, and only when charge current is above about 2A. When it balances, it's extremely weak, so it's more or less impossible to achieve balance before charging terminates due to one cell reaching max voltage. If your pack is extremely balanced to begin with, this BMS *might* be able to maintain balance if you charge at a very low rate, but charging at 5A, my extremely balanced pack is no longer balanced after a few months of use. It simply doesn't have enough balance current to do the job and unfortunately will only balance when charging. It's a poor design in regard to balancing. The second pack I built was built with a JK BMS, which is far superior in this regard. The UI and app isn't quite as nice as the Daly, but the balancing is fantastic. So, it's a "you get what you pay for" scenario once again. If Daly changed the balance current to 100mA or more and/or allowed balancing to occur with trickle charge currents so it could actually make it happen...that would solve the problem completely.
