This is meant to only be used for 6S. It can be used for 4S or 5S, but it will give a phantom reading for any unused wires, and it adds those phantom readings to the overall battery voltage. There is no way to get rid of the phantom readings at all. In the picture you can see there is a reading for every cell, but the last (red) wire isn’t connected to anything.
